5/23/06 - Parowan
On Tuesday May 23rd we moved to Parowan to a very small park. The best part was we had our own semi-private picnic area.
5/26/06 - Cedar Breaks and Bryce Canyon
Friday we drove up to Cedar Breaks National Monument which I had never heard of but was very beautiful. This giant amphitheater high above Cedar City (Map) at over 10,000 feet in elevation, is more than three miles long and 2000 feet deep.
Then we drove over to Bryce Canyon National Park. On the way we discovered another place which was fantastic and to which we returned a few days later, called Red Canyon .
Bryce Canyon National Park was fabulous. We visited Rainbow Point , the Bryce Amphitheater and many other places in the park. Then we had dinner at the lodge and drove home.
5/28/06 - Parowan Petroglyphs
Sunday we went for a drive in the country and discovered the Parowan Petroglyphs . On the way we saw lots of Hay , horses , and a herd of sheep .
5/29/06 - Zion National Park
Monday we drove down to Zion Canyon National Park and explored the northern Kolob Canyon . section first. Then we drove around to the more popular section of the park. It took us longer than we expected, so we decided to just have dinner in Springdale and come back the next day.
 Funky Ghost Town
So on Tuesday we returned to Zion National Park and had a great excursion. We stopped several times along the way to take photos of rocks, animals, flowers, etc. and the odd Ghost Town pictured above. Here's a photo of the Hurricane Cliffs that we saw near Zion.
They don't allow cars in much of the park and my wife decided she didn't want to get on the shuttle busses they provide, so I left her at the visitors center and headed out on my own for a few hours. I got these wonderful photos of Angel's Landing , the Great White Throne , and the Temple Of Sinawava , among many others.
Back in Springdale we did some window shopping, had a good dinner and took photos of these Yucca plants in bloom.
