7/30/04 - The Steve Saga Begins
Steve had a load of wood delivered to our house today and then finally showed up about 3PM. He worked until about 11PM on the electrical circuit and some of the deck. After he had built a frame the size of the hot tub, he poured several bags of sand into the area, leveled the sand and then we moved the hot tub into place.

Tom also came over today and started working on a new set of steps from the house to the breezeway between our house and garage.

I also released a new version of my product Vacation Rental Tracker Plus today.

7/31/04 - New Steps And The Hot Tub Saga Begins

New Steps
New Steps
Tom finished the steps today. They look great! We also got to soak in our hot tub tonight. Oh what a great way to finish the day!!! unfortunately I had some trouble getting the jets going. I'll have to look into this ASAP.

8/1/04 - Hot tub problems
Steve came to work on the hot tub deck today. We spent some time trying to figure out what was going on with the jets but didn't have much luck. This afternoon the temperature started dropping and tonight the tub was pretty lukewarm.

8/2/04 - Spa Professionals
Steve brought by his favorite spa repairman today and when he left (after doing very little) the hot tub seemed to be working. After a little while though it started not working again. Having a spa but not being able to use it is very sad and frustrating. I have faith that it will be fixed very soon.

8/3/04 - Hot tub saga continues
Steve finally showed up again after doing some more calling around about the hot tub problem. He finally decided that I needed to call Hot Springs who is the OEM for my spa which is a Tiger River Manora that is about six years old.

8/4/04 - Hot Tub Saga Ends - Steve Saga Continues
The spa repairman for Hot Springs Spas showed up this morning and quickly diagnosed and fixed the problem. He had to replace a couple of heater sensors and he was one his way in less than an hour. Its great to find a really competent repair person these days.

Steve did some more work on the deck and started working on installing a toilet and sink in our garage.

Odd Bathroom in Garage
Odd Bathroom in Garage
The toilet was just sitting there, waiting to be plumbed, when we bought the place, in a mostly finished room with some very odd pipes and valves sticking out of one wall.

We have been experiencing some very low water pressure lately, so we think maybe someone had previously added a pump of some kind to the water system. We're considering doing that too, but we've been told by a couple of people that it may be our pipes. It also might just be that in the summer time, a lot of people (including a nearby winery) are using the water and the pressure will return to normal when the temperature (and the rains) return to normal.
